Concluding Comments

  • Don't give up.
  • No matter how slowly you progress, the important thing is not to stop and practice everyday.
  • Don’t look back.  Look forward.  Measure your progress on day to day basis.

  • It’s hard, some days you will feel down.  But it is worth keeping on fighting.

  • Research and talk to people. More and more resources are becoming available.

  • No need for an unlimited budget, you can do a lot of things yourself.  For instance, my husband built my own tool for “visualisation” with a small mirror and a cardboard box to exercise my ''faulty'' right hand.

My husband made this mirror ''visualisation'' for me. You put your stroke induced hand into the cardboard box, and looking at the mirror, do exercises for your hand, roughly 20 -30 minutes a day  © IMK
